Job Description:
Position Summary
The Paralegal role will report directly to the Corporate Counsel and requires a strong understanding of legal terminology to support a growing legal team within AMLRS. This role will contribute to moderately complex aspects of projects, including coordinating and working with the Legal and Sales Teams in drafting, preparing, and reviewing contracts to support the company’s business operations. This role will also support internal compliance programs, including the AMLRS environmental, social, and governance (ESG) executive committee. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature and requires a high degree of attention to detail, along with the ability to independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting all committed deadlines.
Responsible for:
Assisting and supporting with legal research and due diligence.
Preparing legal documents and contracts.
Organizing and managing documents in support of the company’s contracting efforts including the administration of the company’s contract-management software.
Partnering with internal cross-functional stakeholders such as HR, Ops and Finance, as well our external tax and legal providers.
Proactively securing feedback from all internal stakeholders regarding information required for contract review, drafting, and execution.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree or Law Student (preferred: 4th or 5th year student)
2+ years of significant and substantive contracts experience as a paralegal/legal assistant
Experience drafting, cite-checking, and correcting legal documents and contracts
Good understanding of the law and legal system with strong legal research and investigation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and word processing software
Excellent organization and administration skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to follow direction & procedures, and able to prioritize workload and assignments
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to exercise independent judgement and escalate matters to the General Counsel, as appropriate
English proficiency
Basic working knowledge of US laws
Nice-To-Have Qualifications
Experience with contract management software for example CobbleStone
Experience with legal research software such as LEX, Legalis, Practical Law/Westlaw
Litigation experience as a paralegal/legal assistant with experience supporting litigators
2+ years of experience supporting financial institutions, financial services companies, and/or managed services providers
Graduate of the US law program (UJ-CUA Program in American law/ Center for American Studies, Warsaw University, etc.)
