The role
The Informatics Sales Specialist leverages their technical expertise in Next-Generation Sequencing and Genomic data analysis to support pre- and post-sales activities. They act as an expert resource and influencer for customers and colleagues, driving sales growth through strategic initiatives and problem-solving. This role is the primary subject matter expert on Illumina’s enterprise products for genetic and clinical research or testing.

Responsibilities will include:
Provide technical guidance and expertise during the sales cycle.
Identify, develop, and expand sales opportunities, building a sales pipeline with account managers.
Consult with customers on informatics requirements for Illumina products.
Demonstrate product fit through proof-of-concept analyses.
Partner with third-party providers for end-to-end solutions.
Collaborate with sales team members to support customer success in Bioinformatics and NGS data analysis.
Act as the regional informatics expert, training the sales organization and keeping them updated on new products.
Conduct informatics presentations and seminars for customers.
Provide demos and involve technical roles for evaluations and implementations.
Offer customer feedback to product management and marketing teams.
Communicate sales activities and strategies to management and colleagues.
Maintain account details in Illumina’s CRM database.
Attending trade shows and conferences.
Complete all required product and technology training.
Preferred background, skills and experience
Proven track record in growing targeted markets.
Strong sales skills with the ability to develop key accounts through networking.
Ability to build relationships with key opinion leaders.
Experience in sequencing data analysis and interpretation.
Knowledge of sequencing applications and related data formats.
Expertise in clinical informatics or bioinformatics.
Familiarity with NGS analysis software and emerging platforms.
Understanding of cloud services and pricing models.
Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Strong technical presentation skills.
Self-motivated and thrives in a dynamic environment.
Desire to win business and build long-term customer relationships.
Detail-oriented and service-focused.
Professional, ethical, and moral representation of the company.
Fluency in English and local language.
Willingness to travel up to 40%.
