Fandom is growing! We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (backend, PHP) to join our Wiki Platform team. This position is based in Poznań, but can work remotely from anywhere in Poland. You will report to our Senior Engineering Manager.
You will get to create engaging user experiences used by 350 million fans who generate 4 billion page events monthly. You will work with our cross-functional teams to plan, design, and build scalable web applications and experiences.
As part of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving Fandom’s wiki platform running on PHP 8 and MediaWiki supported by more than 90 microservices written in Java & GoLang. Your team will focus on improving reliability (observability, stability and resiliency to faults) and performance, both directly, tackling specific challenges and indirectly, by providing and improving tools, services & infrastructure componets for other teams.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be expected to proactively identify critical systems that need to change, architectural problems that need to be addressed, and features that need to be built to deliver upcoming projects. You will also contribute to the strategic direction and planning the roadmap for your team and work across teams to solve problems.
