Job description

MoneySmart Group is South East Asia's leading personal financial portal helping consumers compare loans, insurance, and credit cards. MoneySmart was founded in 2009 with the simple aim to help consumers make better financial decisions.

We are growing and we’re looking for talents to come onboard our Data team as a Data Analyst. This is a remote position based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, or The Philippines.

Mission

MoneySmart is a fast-growing and dynamic organization that leverages data-driven strategies to drive its growth. We are actively expanding our data and BI capabilities, and as part of this initiative, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining core functionalities, including reporting & analytics, AI-based solutions, ML-driven models, and various other data services that are essential to MoneySmart’s data ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights for business teams
  • Experience in data visualization and reporting, with the ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders using tools such as Holistics, Power BI, or similar
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and Python for querying and analyzing data
  • Understanding of AI-driven analytics and automation, with a focus on developing self-serve solutions for stakeholders
  • Proficiency in applying data analytics to business problems, particularly in marketing or customer behavior analysis
  • Basic understanding of ML techniques such as Regression, Clustering, or Customer Segmentation (Nice to have but not mandatory)
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a keen interest in exploring data to uncover insights and optimize processes
  • Ability to collaborate with across all departments to define reporting requirements and ensure data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to train non-technical users on BI tools for simple reporting and analysis use cases

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, engineering, and operations, to understand business challenges and analytical requirements, ensuring alignment with company objectives
  • Support data governance initiatives by ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across teams
  • Develop and optimize BI reports and dashboards, enabling stakeholders to derive insights efficiently
  • Analyze and interpret data to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive business decisions
  • Assist in designing and implementing data models to improve reporting accuracy and analytical capabilities
  • Create data visualizations and reports that communicate insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders
  • Leverage automation and AI-based self-serve solutions to streamline reporting and analytics processes
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure seamless data integration and maintain data pipelines for analytics
  • Provide training and support to business users, helping them utilize BI tools for self-service reporting and decision-making
