Android Consultant (Freelance)

Smadex is a cutting-edge ad-tech company: we process more than 4 million ad requests per second, replying in under 100ms. Every day, we generate several TBs of data that need to be processed, analyzed, and aggregated so that our real-time components get smarter. We need you to help keep our platform in motion! This is a part-time role of 4 hours per week based in Barcelona, but open remotely.

We are looking for an experienced Android Consultant to support and mentor our current team in the development and optimization of our Ads SDK and Android apps. Your insights and technical guidance will be essential in enhancing our platform’s capabilities and ensuring our SDK remains at the forefront of the industry.

The Opportunity:

• Provide expert guidance and mentorship to the Android development team.
• Support the design and optimization of our Android Ads SDK.
• Ensure the SDK is up-to-date with the latest Android advancements, industry standards, and best practices.
• Assist in troubleshooting and improving Android applications.
• Improve the quality and performance of both our SDK and Android apps.
• Review and refine SDK documentation to enhance developer experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with the Smadex platform.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an Android Developer.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDKs, Java/Kotlin, and mobile application development.
• Experience with multithreading, networking, and Android internals.
• Familiarity with performance optimization and best practices in mobile development.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Passion for mobile technology and staying current with the latest advancements.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with mobile advertising technologies such as MRAID and VAST.
• Knowledge of building and distributing Android libraries or SDKs.
• Familiarity with Unity or React Native plugins for Android.
