We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive temporary Procurement Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing process of goods and services, ensuring the organization acquires the necessary products and services at the best possible price while maintaining high quality and timely delivery. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline the procurement process, manage contracts, and uphold compliance with company policies and regulations.

Please note: this is a short-term, contract position from May to September 2025 and is not eligible for company benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Process Management: Oversee the entire procurement process and lifecycle in Zip.

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry standards. Identify and mitigate potential risks in the procurement process.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate procurement processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the overall procurement function.

  • Supplier Management: Drive supplier diversity initiatives to promote inclusive practices in the supply chain, while managing the vendor intake process in Zip.

  • Business & Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain trusted stakeholder relationships across Finance, Corporate IT, Security, Legal, HR, and AP teams. Work across many other departments to solve problems, optimize results collaboratively and creatively, and align procurement strategies with organizational needs and objectives.

  • Leadership: Serve as a thought leader to drive continuous improvement across the company. Individual must be an efficient and strategic problem solver who is comfortable working independently, thinks holistically about key issues, and helps influence positive outcomes. 

  • Reporting & KPI’s: Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement activities, such as supplier performance, purchase order cycle time, and contract value. Use KPI data to identify areas for improvement and drive performance excellence within the procurement function.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in procurement management, including professional services and software vendors required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Procure-to-pay admin tool usage and expense, with strong preference for Zip knowledge or experience. Implementation experience is a plus.

  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Workday Adaptive, Zip or similar accounting and finance tools preferred.

  • Proficient in Excel reporting.

  • Strong written, presentation, and verbal communications skills that can be applied across organizational levels.

  • Familiarity with common process improvement methodologies and governance models, ability to facilitate change management.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, and negotiate and collaborate effectively.

  • Excellent communicator that can interact with diverse groups across organizational levels and build strong relationships.

  • Experience working in SaaS industry preferred.

  • Prefer someone local to Austin, TX although fully remote possible for a strong candidate

Compensation

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. 

 

US Base Salary Range: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour

Please note that the compensation range specified in this job posting is applicable to candidates based in the United States. For international applicants, actual salary offers may vary based on the local market compensation standards and will be determined in accordance with regional considerations, including but not limited to applicable laws, cost of living, and industry norms.
