Frontend Software Architect

The Opportunity:
As a Frontend Architect at Veson Nautical, you will shape the architectural direction of our frontend systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, high-performance, and maintainable web applications. You will lead architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and influence the user experience. Your collaboration will extend beyond UX/UI teams to our dedicated design system team and product designers, ensuring design consistency and fostering innovation across all interfaces.
Your Role and Impact:
  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex frontend systems and user interfaces for maritime commerce applications
  • Design and develop reusable frontend components, libraries, and design systems that enable scalable and consistent development practices across all frontend teams
  • Set the technical direction for frontend development, including the adoption of new technologies, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to define and implement architectural standards, ensuring consistency, scalability, and performance across the frontend ecosystem.
  • Drive innovation by staying ahead of industry trends and continuously improving the user experience with modern frontend technologies.
  • Influence the broader technical strategy, collaborating with backend architects to ensure that frontend and backend systems integrate effectively, especially in microservice-based architectures.
Our Stack:

We use TypeScript, React, Next.js, GraphQL, AWS, and some C# in our day to day but we are code-agnostic and are open to all types of experiences.

Skills/Experience needed to be successful in this role:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a software engineer with at least 2 in an architectural role
  • Proficiency in developing complex frontend applications using modern JavaScript technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.JS
  • Proactive in staying up to date with the latest technologies and identifying opportunities to enhance system performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Proven experience in leading frontend architecture decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Strong collaboration skills, including working with design teams, understanding design systems, and translating visual concepts into functional software solutions while maintaining design integrity.
  • Experience in building distributed, microservice architectures
  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Strong understanding of how frontend decisions impact backend architecture, ensuring seamless integration, efficient data flow, and optimized system performance.
  • Proficiency in collaborating with design systems and UX/UI teams using Figma to translate design concepts into functional software solutions.
  • Experience working in microservices cloud environment
  • Experience creating and contributing to architecture design and documentation
  • Proficiency in working with GraphQL APIs
