Job description

TheRisk Consultantplays a key role in strengthening our compliance and risk management efforts. You'll help develop and implement Compliance Surveillance, Issues Management, and Compliance Review programs while partnering with business units to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to regulations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

 

  • Guide and support business areas on risk management activities and compliance responsibilities.
  • Analyze risk-related data, monitor controls, and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Identify compliance and operational risks and collaborate with teams to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and coordinate risk framework activities, including monitoring and testing of controls.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, compliance reviews, and develop Key Risk Indicators.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

 

  • Experience & Expertise: At least 3 years of experience in insurance, financial services, or a relevant field, with an additional 3 years in risk management, compliance, audit, or a related leadership role. Strong knowledge of insurance, securities, and mortgage products is a plus.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Proven experience interpreting and applying federal, state, and industry regulations. Expertise in compliance systems and Microsoft applications is highly valued.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to assess risk, analyze complex information, and develop effective solutions. Project management experience is beneficial.
  • Leadership & Communication: Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to travel up to 5% as needed. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

 

PREFERRED:

 

  • FINRA Series 7, 24, 66 (or 63/65) registrations as well as the ability to successfully complete on-going continuing education requirements.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst certification
  • Financial Risk Manager certification
  • Operational Risk Management certification
  • Certified Internal Auditor
  • Certified Information System Auditor
