Responsibilities:
Join us in leading the change!
Manage and lead power system generation and merchant transmission integration and interconnection services in the Western Interconnection and ERCOT, including leading other power system engineers, performing analyses, and managing client communications, under minimal supervision.
How you can make an impact:
- Lead Generation Integration and Interconnection efforts primarily within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) footprint. Possessing expertise in other key US electric markets, including SPP, PJM, WECC, and MISO is a plus.
- Act as the technical expert in matters related to the energy resource (generator and load) interconnection processes, while also focusing on transmission analysis, steady state, grid capacity, and system impact studies.
- Identify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and assessing grid capacity.
- Support business development activities with focus on ERCOT and prepare scopes of work/proposals.
- Work on interconnection projects, including modeling, and due diligence.
- Contribute to the knowledge base of the organization and development of innovative study approaches/techniques.
- Lead, teach, and mentor junior-level Power Systems Engineers.
- Attend and participate in meetings and conferences on engineering and technical issues and report key findings.
- Review load flow generation transmission studies, as well as data center and load transmission studies.
- Have a deep understanding of transmission planning, power flow modeling, and reliability standards to evaluate grid conditions and optimize system performance.
Desired skills
- Ability to create and validate PSSE, PSCAD, and TSAT plant models for renewable generation (Solar PV, BESS, Wind) as well as Conventional projects a plus.
- Ability to perform specialized studies of the power grid, such as Reactive Power Compensation Studies, Sub-synchronous Resonance studies, protection coordination studies, arc flash studies, transient overvoltage (TOV) studies, a plus.
Qualifications:
Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:
- 5+ years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer.
- Well-versed in the interconnection process of ERCOT from the initial filing of the interconnection application through commercial operations. Other ISOs are a plus.
- Proven team player with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Have high standards in producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.
- Strong customer focus, both internal and external.

Location: This position is open to remote - Canada
