Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Scientific Communications to bridge the gap between scientific research and commercialization, ensuring that medical information is accurately communicated to healthcare professionals, external collaborators, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, who can translate scientific data on the gut microbiome and ensure the highest standards of medical and scientific integrity across all activities. This person will be facile at shifting between projects and audiences, all while maintaining scientific rigor and credibility. This role will report to the VP of Healthcare Revenue and work closely with the Clinical Team to support the publication of emerging data in peer-reviewed journals, drive strategic communications for healthcare professionals, and translate complex microbiome science into compelling, evidence-based narratives.

What You'll Do:
  • Scientific & Medical Communications
  • Develop and execute a strategic scientific communications plan to support Pendulum’s healthcare and clinical initiatives.
  • Translate scientific research, clinical trial findings, and emerging microbiome science into digestible formats for healthcare professionals (HCPs), researchers, and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop scientific content for healthcare audiences, including:
  • -Webinar and presentation content
    -HCP educational materials and protocols
    -White papers
    -Case studies
    -Marketing content for email, social, newsletters, etc.

  • Manage effective cross–functional partnerships including regulatory affairs, marketing, market access, and sales, to integrate scientific communications into commercial strategies and initiatives that will drive growth.
  • Peer-Reviewed Publications & Clinical Research Support
  • Partner with the Clinical Team to support the development, submission, and publication of peer-reviewed research articles showcasing Pendulum’s scientific discoveries.
  • Assist in manuscript writing, editing, and submission for clinical studies and real-world evidence data.
  • Manage scientific poster presentations, abstracts, and conference submissions to maximize exposure of Pendulum’s research.


  • Knowledge Requirements:
  • Advanced degree (MS, PharmD, PhD, MD preferred) in a scientific discipline such as biology, biochemistry, nutritional sciences, or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in scientific communications or related roles within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful scientific communication strategies that drive engagement and support business objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex scientific information into clear and compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including KOLs and scientific experts.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving, decision-making and content creation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
