Job description

As a Solution Consultant, you will be expected to provide deep industry, solution or product expertise to sales process for clients within our Canada Legal segment. In this role, you will be more product focus vs sales orientated and provide demo and product support, often with a technical orientation. You will primarily meet clients through virtual channels, with travel for in-person engagement by exception only.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Solutions Consultant, you will:

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to meet Canadian client needs by building client centricity into everything we do at Thomson Reuters

  • Provide product demonstration, use-case identification and proof of concept support to the sales organization with a focus on generative AI solutions

  • Understand industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to our markets and communicate these findings to internal teams

  • Analyze large amounts of data and generate reports to provide business intelligence and insight to senior management

  • Provide support to the sales organization through training, coaching, and mentoring

  • Partner with marketing on product positioning and messaging to help drive pipeline generation through innovative marketing campaigns.


About You

You're a fit for the role of Solutions Consultant if your background includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum three years’ experience in solutions consulting or related field, preferably in a B2B environment; experience with government procurement is an asset

  • Experience working in a complex matrixed organization and demonstrated ability to navigate such organizations effectively

  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written – and strong presentation skills, including ability to deliver large group presentations

  • Ability to establish credibility with senior executives

  • Proven analytical skills with advanced attention to detail

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and relationship building abilities

  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation strategies

  • Proven success influencing cross functional teams to accomplish objectives

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously against tight deadlines

  • Advanced PC skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook – with the ability to quickly learn web-based technology

  • Experience with generative AI in business solutions is a huge plus

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The target total cash compensation range varies across locations.

For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the target total cash compensation range for this role is $77,000 - $143,000.

This is inclusive of both base pay and any target sales incentive.
Pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay and any target sales incentive are part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
