Job Summary
These positions draft legally defensible EB (employee benefits) contract documents for group life and disability products, alternate funding agreements, master and service agreements, and voluntary coverages - across all States, including all complexity levels of customers. The difference in the levels is based on increasing complexity of the work and required skills.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
This position analyzes and drafts moderately complex and non-complex contract documents; interprets and analyzes plan documents and submission materials to match provisional intent; discusses policy provisions to enhance customer satisfaction; brings contract expertise to the varying processes to enhance the customer experience; mitigates financial risk by drafting legally defensible contracts.
Skills and Background You’ll Need
We are hiring for two roles:
Contract Analyst II: requires 1 – 2 years of related experience
Senior Contract Analyst: requires 3+ years of related experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
Knowledge & Skills: Requires full knowledge of coverage features, standard contractual provisions, and concepts related to group insurance products
Is able to work collaboratively with other contract analysts, field personnel, and other Home Office employees.
Is able to effectively discuss general policy provisions with customers, by expressing ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
Possesses strong analytical, problem solving, customer service and time management skills.
Is able to provide mentoring, and training for colleagues with less experience.

Job Complexity & Judgment: Requires ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret submission materials (including documents, dialogue, and database information) to draft moderately complex and non-complex, legally defensible contract documents (including prior plan reviews and contract comparisons). Possesses contractual proficiency to convey appropriate language options to meet customer expectations, correctly interpret customer inquiries, and approve specialized enrollment materials for other functional areas. Understands the up and downstream implications to other disciplines, processes, and customers.
Independence & Supv required: Plans and schedules own work and requires limited direction. Complex work may require engagement and input from multiple roles company-wide for desired work product.
Interaction & Influence: Contacts are company-wide to provide or obtain information. May consult with management. Networks with internal and external key contacts. Effective mentor and team player.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.
Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
Salary Range:
$48,000.00 - $70,250.00Positions will be posted for at least 5 days from original posting date.
