Role Summary
The Magnet Nexus team is looking for their next Technical Manager. Magnet Nexus is a cloud-based SaaS remote endpoint collection and analysis solution. This cross-functional team is looking for a strong leader that can nurture the collaborative culture of the team, provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, and coordinate effectively with stakeholders and other teams. The leader may also contribute technically, depending on their strengths, with design and architecture reviews, code reviews, and writing and/or testing code.
 
Note: The Candidate must reside in Canada.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Magnet Nexus technical team’s technical direction and execution, providing timely feedback, supporting in daily activities, status reporting, hiring, and organizing team events;
  • Coach and mentor the team, to provide career development opportunities;
  • Set the operating framework for the team, prioritizing delivering value to our customers. Monitor and debug the development processes, including CI/CD practices, testing methodologies, and agile ceremonies to deliver value;
  • Ensure the fulfillment of compliance requirements and security best practices;
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure architecture using AWS, while managing cloud costs;
  • Ensure system reliability and uptime for the SaaS operations of Magnet Nexus;
  • Communicate clearly with cross-functional stakeholders such as Product Management, Sales, Technical Support, and Marketing;
  • Own technical roadmap and collaborate with Product Management on product roadmap to ensure technical requirements are identified, scoped, and prioritized alongside user features;
  • Perform other duties as assigned;
  • Travel: 5-10%.

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience;
  • Has demonstrated effective leadership of engineering teams (regardless of title) in previous roles with demonstrated experience in architecting, testing and/or developing software;
  • 5+ years of experience with several of: AWS, Azure, CloudFormation, ASP.NET Core, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, Docker;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and situational leadership abilities;
  • Experience coaching teams and individuals for professional development and high performance;
  • Ability to synthesize business and engineering needs to prioritize effectively;
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment;
  • Teamwork & collaboration skills to work across organizations and lead cross-functional teams;
  • Problem solving skills to develop quick yet sound solutions to resolve complex issues;
  • Good conflict resolution and negotiating skills.

  • Nice To Have:
  • Experience with: Powershell, Linux/Windows (If you have both, awesome!), React, Typescript, or Material UI;
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and team communication skills.

  • The Compensation Range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Please note that the actual compensation may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills. If you are applying for this role outside of the primary location and you are selected for an interview, the Talent Acquisition Partner can share more information with you. If the compensation structure for the role includes an incentive component (ie. most Sales roles) the range below represents total target compensation (TTC) (base salary + variable).

  • Compensation Range:
  • MIN: $131,200 - MID: $164,000 - MAX: $196,800 CAD
