Specific Responsibilities Would Include::

The Consultant is responsible for managing the end-to-end product development process from inception to shipment, ensuring the right quality, vendor, price, and timely delivery. This role involves product development, costing, price negotiation, and close collaboration with buyers and suppliers to maximize customer interest and maintain margin levels.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee product development, manage costing, and negotiate prices.
  • Monitor the sampling approval process, handle lab dips, bulk color, and quality submissions, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Follow up on T&A (WIP) regularly and ensure on-time delivery reporting.
  • Work with buyers and suppliers to negotiate prices, quantities, and timescales. Build constructive relationships with customers and channel partners.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with internal and external partners.
  • Ensure vendors/factories schedule inspections, book space with shipping lines, and hand over goods on time. Provide required shipping documents promptly after shipment.
  • Coordinate with the compliance team for FE renewals and factory corrective action plans. Handle ad-hoc projects related to vendor compliance and documentation.
  • Regularly update internal customers on the status of production and shipment of garments.
  • Manage all operational activities from proto sample development, costing, production tracking, fabric and trim development, and WIP updates.
  • Communicate order details and requirements to suppliers/production units, ensuring quantity, quality, order specifications, and delivery dates are met.
  • Coordinate price negotiations with suppliers as designated by senior merchandisers or managers.
  • Track critical paths, forecast delays, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Identify and diagnose production problems, working with suppliers to present alternatives to buyers and senior management.
  • Oversee production in assigned factories, liaising with QA departments and factory management teams for quality, inspections, and delivery deadlines.
  • Perform general administrative work as required.

Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or a related field
  • At least 4-5 years of proven experience in merchandising
  • Knowledge of Socks manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, trim and print techniques
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for product presentation and visual aesthetics.
  • Up-to-date on the latest merchandising trends and best practices
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills for working across diverse teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe products
