Job description

WorkWave is looking for a dedicated and highly motivated attorney with excellent general corporate skills and experience to serve in the position of Corporate Counsel, reporting directly to WorkWave’s General Counsel.  As WorkWave’s Corporate Counsel, you will have broad exposure to all legal aspects and requirements of WorkWave, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, licensing, intellectual property, privacy and data security, AI, litigation, and employment related matters.  You will be a key resource to WorkWave’s personnel, including supporting sales efforts to help bring deals to a timely close.  In general you will be collaborative and an excellent communicator with good judgment related to contractual and operational risks, while balancing the needs of the business.  Do you have a passion for details and want to work in an exciting team-centric collaborative environment? WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Work with WorkWave’s General Counsel on a wide variety of legal matters affecting the business
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on a variety of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of agreements including customer contracts, vendor agreements, and partnership agreements.
  • Support the Product, Sales, Procurement, and Finance teams on contract terms, data privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) and other applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advise on product compliance, intellectual property, and risk management.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships for specialized legal matters and litigation.
  • Assist with corporate governance, M&A activity, and equity-related matters as needed.
  • Support the creation and implementation of legal policies, training programs, and best practices across the organization.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks to help the business achieve its objectives.

  • WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • 5-8 years of legal experience (in-house counsel experience at a SaaS or technology company preferred).
  • Experience drafting, negotiating, and managing SaaS agreements, commercial contracts, and vendor agreements
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other global privacy laws is a plus.
  • Experience advising on software licensing, intellectual property, and subscription-based business models.
  • Ability to translate legal concepts into practical business advice with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to balance business priorities and legal risk.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally across teams.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience creating and managing contract templates, playbooks, and legal processes.
  • Familiarity with procurement contracts and vendor management is a plus.
  • Experience with corporate governance, M&A, or equity-related matters is a bonus.
  • Active bar admission 
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Payment facilitation experience is a plus
