Job description

IDT is looking to bring in an Engineering Manager to reinforce our technology management team with the mission to optimize our software platform and elevate the agility of our technology teams.

In this highly visible role that has direct access to C-level executives, you will build, manage, and lead our world-class agile software engineering organization that is responsible for supporting a suite of products. 

Product:

* Digital Payments (MTU, E-Gift, E-Sim): Our digital payment platform offers customers a convenient way to send mobile top-ups, purchase electronic gift cards, and buy e-SIM cards—all in one place.
Digital payments are available on two mobile apps - BOSS Revolution: Calling App and BOSS Money—and Zendit, a cloud-based Prepay-as-a-Service platform.
Zendit gives developers and entrepreneurs tools to instantly access thousands of global prepaid products and connect with billions of users worldwide.

Primary responsibility:
  • People Management: Recruit and retain top engineering talent.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones to support growth and assess performance.
  • Lead and mentor engineers, fostering learning and collaboration.
  • Address team well-being and prevent burnout.
  • Maintain engineering culture standards.
  • Delivery Management: Optimize team structure and resource allocation based on priorities and strengths.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for high-quality, on-time delivery.
  • Improve engineering processes for better efficiency and quality.
  • Drive agile practices and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure clear stakeholder communication and alignment.
  • Align engineering with company objectives and business value.
  • Engineering Management: Maintain high code quality and architectural standards.
  • Guide technical decisions to align with company standards and goals.
  • Drive innovation and technical improvements.
  • Lead technical discussions and decision-making.
  • Convert initiatives into team tasks and track progress.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks.
  • Work with Compliance on regulatory requirements and audits.
  • Conduct thorough incident reviews to address root causes.

  • Requirements:
  • Proven Leadership Experience: At least 1 year of experience leading cross-functional, agile development teams, ideally in a product-driven environment.
  • Technical Background: Solid hands-on experience as a software engineer.
  • DevOps and Automation Skills: Familiarity with continuous integration, automated testing, release management, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively prioritize, plan, and perform under pressure or in uncertain situations.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Talent Development (Preferred): Experience in hiring and nurturing high-performing engineering teams is a plus.
  • Language Proficiency: Good command of English, at B2 level or higher; Russian language - nice to have.
