Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Scientific Software Engineer to support a Venture Backed Cancer Detection company. This position is an exciting opportunity to support a highly-funded startup with some of the best engineers in the industry. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria. Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in scientific or research-driven environments.
Extensive knowledge of software validation, quality systems, and compliance standards (ISO 13485, IEC 62304)
Expertise in Python, with additional proficiency in Rust, C++, or Go.
Strong background in cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure), particularly in scalable and distributed system design.
Hands-on experience with workflow automation tools (Nextflow, Snakemake) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Desired:
Previous work in start-up environments, demonstrating adaptability to fast-moving and evolving priorities.
Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight—this role requires a self-starter who can immediately contribute.
Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with bioinformatics and research teams to develop software solutions that meet biological and scientific objectives.
