Work with a major telecom vendor to define a generic Element Management System capable of managing a diverse set the vendors' and OEM telecom access equipment and integrate them into Telecommunication's OSS infrastructure. The equipment is focused on the following technologies:
DSL Fiber to the Premises (FTTP)
DSL Fiber to the Curb (FTTC)
EoCu (Ethernet over copper)
EoF (Ethernet over Fiber)
Remote IP DSLAM
The initial phase involves extending the capabilities of the vendor's existing EMS to support a set of new DSL and EoCU/EoF devices with minimal or no impact on the northbound (OSS) interfaces. Note the vendor's technical team will be working along this position to provide technical support and information about the vendor's equipment and existing EMS system; however, this position must provide information about optimal EMS design, general carrier needs, and a knowledge of Telecommunication OSS infrastructure. The work includes:
Understanding Telecommunication's OSS environment and OSS interfaces (in the DSL and EoCu/EoF technologies)
Working with the vendor's Network Element technical team to understand the NE's interface needs
Working with the vendor's EMS team to understand the existing northbound (Telecommunication / OSS) interfaces
Defining the mapping between the NE's interface and the OSS interfaces
Defining a common GUI layer to extend existing EMS to support the new equipment
Defining other components of a generic EMS layer (e.g. inventory management system, etc.)
