THE TEAM: 

The Security Engineering function at Ticketmaster connects our core engineering work with modern security practices. Working directly with our development teams worldwide, this group guides the implementation of security measures that protect our platform and our customers. The role offers the chance to work with advanced technology while shaping security practices for a major entertainment platform that serves millions of fans. Our security work directly impacts how we build and maintain our products, making this a key part of Ticketmaster's technology strategy.

THE JOB: 

As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll work closely with the Principal Engineer to implement security initiatives within your assigned areas. You'll contribute strong technical expertise in developing and implementing security solutions that enhance how we protect our software. You'll work directly with development teams to identify and resolve security challenges, conduct design reviews, and provide technical consultation focused on application security.

As part of our security consulting and threat modeling function, you'll work alongside our Principal and Senior Director of software security to help development teams build security into their applications from the ground up. You'll participate in threat modeling sessions, where you'll apply your technical expertise to identify potential security risks and help teams understand attack surfaces in their systems. Working closely with development teams, you'll provide hands-on technical guidance for implementing security controls and assist in reviewing design proposals to ensure security requirements are met.

Through technical analysis and security testing, you'll help identify security vulnerabilities and implement solutions using established patterns and frameworks. You'll contribute to the development of reusable security components and help maintain automated security testing frameworks. Success in this role means being a skilled technical implementer who can effectively collaborate with teams to solve security challenges.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Technical Leadership and Architecture

Implement established security architecture patterns and help maintain reusable security components within your assigned areas. Assist in the maintenance of security tools and automated testing frameworks. Implement solutions for security challenges within specific systems.

  • Security Architecture and Implementation

Execute shift-left security practices and implement zero trust principles through hands-on engineering work. Support and maintain security testing frameworks and automated scanning solutions. Help implement security monitoring and detection systems for specific applications.

  • Technical Analysis and Research

Perform security vulnerability assessments and analyze potential security risks within assigned systems. Research and implement established security controls to address identified vulnerabilities. Provide detailed technical recommendations for remediation.

  • Threat Modeling

Participate in threat modeling sessions and help teams apply threat modeling techniques to their projects. Support the implementation of threat modeling practices within development teams.

  • Security Consultation Support

Provide technical guidance to development teams on security best practices. Participate in security reviews and help create technical documentation for secure development practices.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES)  

  • Proven years of experience in information security

  • Strong understanding of modern security practices, including ShiftLeft, Zero-Trust, and threat modeling

  • Solid background in application security, cloud security, and secure software development practices

  • Experience with security testing and vulnerability assessment

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain security concepts to technical audiences

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; security certifications (CISSP, Security+) a plus

YOU (Behavioral SKILLS/COMPETENCIES)  

  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with development teams

  • Interest in staying current with security trends and technologies

  • Ability to learn and adapt to new security challenges

  • Experience in the entertainment or ticketing industry is a plus
