Job description

Come join a company who is a key leader in the industry scaling the next core commerce infrastructure and on the path from $100M to $500M! Founded in 2012, Salsify helps brand manufacturers, distributors, and retailers in over 80 countries collaborate to win on the digital shelf. As the market leader globally, our products are shopper-centric, frictionless, and create memorable commerce experiences. Our products provide a competitive edge through experiences that improve brand trust, amplify product differentiation and assortments, increase conversion rate, improve profit margins, and speed time to market.

Learn how the world’s largest brands, including Mars, L'Oreal, Coca-Cola, Bosch, and GSK, as well as retailers and distributors such as E.Leclerc, Carrefour, Metro, and Intermarché use Salsify everyday to stand out on the digital shelf.

At Salsify, we strive to embody an equitable, diverse, and inclusive company culture. We are united across countries, levels, tenures, and a host of other dimensions of diversity. We understand that while work is just one aspect of who we are, a truly inclusive culture accounts for the full authenticity of every single human being that works here.

About the Opportunity

As a Senior Product Manager in the Ecossytem Group, you will be responsible for defining the vision and strategy for the newly formed Global Data Standards team that aims at optimizing the process for brands to activate their content across global digital shelves and for retailers to streamline their data ingestion process. You will define, manage and execute on an aggressive roadmap by collaborating closely with cross functional stakeholders across Sales, CSM, Retail, Engineering and other R&D growth teams.

This position is critical to the success of our customers in the new Salsify Advance platform as we move towards delivering the most efficient Syndication experience. The prize for executing this role well is to improve the time to value for our enterprise brands in realizing their Syndication spend, thereby enabling faster adoption and improved customer satisfaction.

How You'll Make an Impact:

Standards Expertise

  • Develop and maintain deep expertise in the Global GS1 system of standards, specific to how the standards are used to capture and share eCommerce and supply chain data both in North America and in the EU . This includes staying up-to-date with the latest developments and understanding all the technical aspects of the standards, and sharing expertise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Champion the understanding and importance of data standards across the Salsify ecosystem, furthering the understanding internally and externally of the critical role standards play as the foundation of any solution Salsify develops.

Standards Management:

  • Actively manage the evolution of the Salsify PXM and SXM data model standards by identifying and mitigating inconsistencies between the two platforms. Work closely with cross functional stakeholders and retail teams on a resolution path.
  • Identify tooling opportunities to improve the management of the Salsify PXM and SXM standards. Collaborate with R&D teams for end-to-end execution of the ideas.
  • Review incoming SXM data model update requests from retailers and recommend a go-forward plan to the organization. Work with Analysts and Platform Operations to perform necessary changes to the retailer-specific data model which is in alignment with our overall data model strategy
  • Develop and manage a robust change management process for updating the PXM and SXM data standards.

Change Management:

  • Communicate through clear, concise written communication that engages collaborators and partners in key decisions pertaining to data model decisions and any relevant customer/retailer impact.
  • Identify blind spots and opportunities for the product’s success and triage related issues from cross-functional teams.
  • Successfully running pilots with customers and partners while rolling out new standards.

Team Leadership: Manage direct reports, providing direction on deliverables and priorities and providing the necessary coaching, development planning and performance management.

You'll Enjoy This Role If You Have:

  • Ability to assess data structures, identify inconsistencies, and develop solutions to enhance data quality.
  • Experience managing large-scale data initiatives and driving adoption of new data governance policies.
  • Proven track record of building strong cross-functional relationships with colleagues and partners and building influence within an organization that is brimming with strong opinions and deep expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: must be sharp, energetic, outspoken, and results-oriented; able to prioritize and focus in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Ability to collect and deeply understand user feedback and then amplify that learning to the organization
