What you’ll do

  • Complete project life-cycle management for small to medium sized projects

  • Successfully deliver the project's products within the acceptable parameters of time, quality, and budget agreed to within the Project Charter

  • Participate in large complex projects and assume lead responsibilities for assigned deliverables

  • Lead project team(s) in a matrix environment (business clients, Service Experience team, Strategic Client Managers, IT Solutions Support Team, Marketing and Communications Team, IT Planning and Architecture, etc.)

  • Ensure all phases of project delivery are performed within IT, Corporate, and Digital Peel standards, timeframes, and budget requirements (CPMM and IT Extensions)

  • Coordinate the logistics (e.g., preparation of tenders and contracts, develop project plans, work schedules, and determine priorities) or operational elements (e.g., budgets and resource requirements) for well-defined IT projects

  • Manage vendor(s)

  • Determine priorities and resource allocation

  • Work with Client Relationship Managers to define Project Charter and Business Case (IT Concepts, IT Analysis, and IT Design) in consultation with subject matter experts within the organization

  • Ensure that applications, information, system, technology, and security architectures meet current standards by working with the Enterprise Architecture Management Team. If the client business needs do not meet current standards, work with ISTS Planning and Architecture to prepare the case for a change in architecture for review by the governance process

  • Design the overall project strategy, create, execute, and control project plans, manage project change control process, and administer the project's budget

  • Provide project team, business stakeholder meetings, and regular reporting to the Client Relationship Manager, Project Sponsor, Senior Project Manager IT Projects, Steering Committee, and possibly ELT or other Regional Committees and other stakeholders, as appropriate

  • Lead the UAT in consultation with QA, Service Experience, Solutions Architects, Developers, Change Managers, and other key stakeholders

  • Coordinate and manage the project’s production deployment activities and follow the SDLC methodology

  • Manage project hypercare activities with stakeholders that include managing defects and enhancements of the solution

  • Motivate project team(s) to work as a cohesive unit and ensure the completeness of the project's deliverables

  • Resolve strategic issues or escalate to the appropriate level

  • Close the project and conduct post-implementation review

What you'll need

  • Project management certification (either one of PMP, CAPM, CSM, PPM, MPM)

  • University or college graduate in computer science or related discipline with a minimum of three years prior experience in project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Thorough knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools including the SDCL and CPMM IT Extensions

  • Ability to manage small to medium well-defined projects and to develop project budgets

  • Strong skills in the use of project management software applications (such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Selenium, etc.)

  • Ability to influence and negotiate without formal authority

  • Understanding of specific methods such as:

    • Application and database development/acquisition/maintenance processes

    • Business software evaluation/acquisition process

    • Decision-level technical competencies in IT products and methods within project scope

    • Technology infrastructure product evaluation/acquisition process

  • Progressive technical knowledge and knowledge of best practices in Information Technology service delivery such as SDLC, COBIT, and ITIL

  • Demonstrated leadership competencies including results achievement, human resources management, leadership, decision making, collaboration, coaching, mentoring, flexibility, professionalism, and job knowledge

  • Excellent customer service skills and orientation, including the demonstrated ability to work constructively and flexibly with client groups

  • Proven track record of establishing productive relationships with business partners, customers, staff, and vendors

  • Proven organizational, multi-tasking, time management, planning, and project management skills to organize resources and manage priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

  • Excellent communication skills to work with clients, technical team, management, and executive level staff to communicate technological principles and information in an audience-friendly manner

  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and issue resolution skills in situations where the problem may be technical, managerial, or interpersonal

  • Understanding of financial management, capital budgeting, business planning, and purchasing/contract management processes
