Job description

Not all heroes wear capes — but plenty of them use toilet paper

Want to challenge yourself at a high-growth startup AND make a difference in the world? Come join the revolootion!

Funny name, serious business

We make eco-friendly products and donate 50% of our profits to provide clean water and help build toilets for the billions of people who lack proper access. So far, we’ve contributed over $18 million AUD (roughly $12.5 million USD) to fund sanitation projects around the globe. Basically, we’re really good at doing good.

With hubs in Australia, the Philippines, China, the US, UK and Europe, our amazing team of 200+ work to make the biggest possible impact for people and the planet. Over the next couple of years, we’re hoping to increase our annual donation tenfold to get us closer to our dream of everyone in the world having access to clean water and sanitation services.

A bit about the role

Our creative team is the driving force behind our brand, shaping how we connect with customers at every touchpoint. As our Digital Designer, your work is often the first thing our customers see, making a lasting impression by creating bold, eye-catching graphics that bring our fun, purpose-driven brand to life across all marketing channels.

This isn’t just any design role – it’s an opportunity to shape campaigns for a brand that’s passionate about making a positive impact on the planet and driving change. You’ll collaborate closely with our Marketing Design Lead to help deliver on our big business goals, especially in social and content. We’re looking for someone who loves brainstorming fresh ideas, thinking outside the box, and finding creative ways to elevate our campaigns and amplify our brand.

We’re a remote-first company with a creative team that spans the US and Australia, and we welcome talent from anywhere in our Australian hub. With 4-6 hours of daily collaboration, you’ll be working with an amazing global team, syncing with the US in the afternoon and Aussie mornings.

Ready to use your design skills for a brand that’s making a real difference? We can’t wait to meet you!

If you worked here this past month here are some things you might have been involved in

  • Created a tongue-in-cheek organic content series titled “Hot 4 Wash” giving clean water and sanitation a sexy twist
  • Developed an award-winning Limited Edition idea (from packaging to marketing and everything in between) that our customers absolutely loved
  • Brainstormed 20 different memes on a relatable toilet paper insight
  • Helped the video team bring our brand personality to life on set with art direction, prop sourcing and storyboarding
  • Brought to life our Valentine’s day campaign across multiple touchpoints, designing all our assets to perfectly balance our brand guidelines along with customer delight
  • Pitched a social idea centred on a hot-topic cultural conversation for our brand to disrupt, delight and twist  — taking it from concept to completion in only a few hours
Let’s talk about you

You’re a mid-weight graphic designer or art director who's proficient in Adobe and Figma and believes design should do more than just look good—it should drive results. You're passionate about creative work that supports growth marketing and makes a positive impact. With a good understanding of the social media landscape, you stay on top of the latest trends and are keen to explore how to leverage platforms in new and exciting ways.

You are an ideas machine!

You’re brimming with ideas that address the brief, solve business challenges, and bring our brand to life. No idea is too big for you, and you're eager to share your concepts and embrace feedback to create high-performing content. You’re focused on developing your presentation skills to deliver creative recommendations that resonate with both the team and stakeholders. By actively contributing to the creative team's yearly plan and asking thoughtful questions during briefings, you ensure you have all the necessary information before starting any project.

You see the forest AND the trees

You show curiosity and a proactive approach by seeking to understand the marketing strategy, broader WGAC goals, and the creative team's roadmap. You ask insightful questions to ensure you fully understand the priorities of your day-to-day work. Rather than focusing solely on the creative you're working on, you consider how it fits into the bigger picture. This mindset enables you to create impactful, relevant creative that aligns with key priorities, contribute to the team’s success, and maintain flexibility in the creative process.

You get things done

You actively support the team in addressing challenges and finding new solutions, whether it’s improving workflows or refining creative ideas. You also contribute proactive suggestions for team improvements, creative concepts, and inspiration that align with our goals. While you thrive working autonomously, you’re always eager to jump into team brainstorms and collaborate cross-functionally to inform and elevate your work.

You give a crap

Do you want your work to make the world a better place? Do you want to work with other people who feel the same way? What a coincidence — us too!

Why should you work with us?

First off, as a certified B Corp™, we work to make a difference every day while maintaining the highest standards of social and environmental impact. With our most recent score of 125.5 we’re in very good company with other exceptional B Corps around the world.

We also believe that helping to make the world a better place should be rewarded accordingly – that’s why we offer competitive, market informed salaries, meaningful support towards healthcare for our team around the world, generous paid leave, tailored learning and development opportunities, and free toilet paper (yes, you read that right).

Our engagement surveys (thanks Culture Amp!) tell us that our team is really proud (95%) to work for Who Gives A Crap and, well, we couldn’t be more proud of that.

Have you made it this far?

If you’re still reading, we think there’s a strong chance you might be our kind of person. Here’s the thing, though — research suggests that 60% of women and underrepresented folks might have already talked themselves out of applying. Even if you don’t check every box above, we want to encourage you to introduce yourself. We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences makes a team stronger — and the stronger our team, the closer we are to delivering toilets and clean water for all.
