Our innovative solutions and proven processes lead to better value and health for all.

The MCH Senior Project Manager will be responsible for Altarum’s portfolio of maternal and child health projects, serving as Project Director on large training and technical assistance contracts with the federal government. This role includes supervising maternal and child health staff, overseeing project work, and driving new business development. The MCH Senior Project Manager will also establish and maintain positive client relationships, identify and pursue new business opportunities, and fulfill the role of Project Director as needed.

  • Offer leadership and guidance to team members and lower-level PMs.
  • Maintain an extensive network of contacts to assist with business development and funding efforts.
  • Keep skills and knowledge of the focus area up to date through professional development and other educational methods.
  • Supervise and mentor maternal and child health staff.
  • Collaborate with the MCH and Sexual and Reproductive Health Program Director to lead strategy and innovation for the MCH focus area.
  • Provide thought leadership, subject matter expertise, and project/client management capabilities as needed.
  • Lead federal, state, and philanthropic proposal efforts.

  • Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in public health or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of work experience, including specific experience in Title V and other maternal and child health (MCH) policy and programming.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience directing projects and managing staff.
  • Expertise in MCH workforce development, health disparities, early childhood, and child/adolescent health.
  • Experience in MCH and early childhood systems.
  • Experience working with mid-level and senior clinical and/or administrative leaders in diverse settings.
  • Experience providing technical assistance to federal and state agencies implementing policies and programs to improve MCH.
  • Preferred experience in leading evaluations of MCH policy and programs.
  • Experience managing, coordinating, or contributing to large-scale proposal efforts.
  • Effective team leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead teams to produce high-quality results for training and technical assistance projects.
  • Ability to identify and lead teams to pursue strategies for new business growth.
  • Successful provision of training and technical assistance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
