Position Purpose: Executes optimal purchasing for an Omni-channel environment by effectively employing systems, tools (BlueYonder Fulfillment and SAP), process, and standardized reporting. Assists in managing receipts and service levels by profile. May provide support in managing to deadlines and provide some analytical insight as a means of supporting the successful implementation of L.L.Bean's and Inventory Management's strategic objectives. This role contributes independently for assigned products with medium to high complexity and oversight.

About the role:

  • Maintains best practices for buying. Helps drive revision of methodologies and SOP's pertaining to the optimal use of BlueYonder Fulfillment. Manages part of the business, employing approved processes, controls and reporting.

  • Manages the buying process pre-season and in-season to ensure alignment with buy strategies to meet receipt targets and inventory levels for own area of responsibility.

  • Shares knowledge at weekly meetings to review trends and communicate production requirements to cross-functional partners. Effectively aligns with department leadership to drive collaboration with cross-functional team members to ensure all deliverables are met. Understands the end to end process as it relates to the buying process. Helps monitor and prioritize the day to day plan in support of the team workload coordination.

  • Provides insights into the identification of data patterns and relationships to break through a high level of data and navigating ambiguous situations. Effectively displays business acumen and cross functional knowledge of processes. Applies a proactive approach to identifying & managing business trends vs. a reactive approach.

  • Supports and helps drive the coordination of efforts and resources with the Sustain Team for continuous improvement. Advocates for and may participate in the BlueYonder Super User group. Helps pilot advanced methods and assists in assessing outcomes.

  • Manages Vendor negotiation for improved options to meet goals and metrics and ensures inventory production and flow meet vendor requirements as well as own DC level receipt plans.

  • Manages Production Plans for efficiencies for vendor & L.L.Bean often with support of Sourcing.

  • Manages Make and Hold, CR, DS and Fabric Protection & other Buy strategies to improve inventory.

  • Demonstrates business acumen and cross-functional knowledge for strategic planning across channels. Maintains awareness of buying, forecasting/allocation functions as they relate to the end-to-end, omni-channel process. Supports company-wide strategic efforts and quickly adapts to workflow and business impacts. Maintains partnerships with Forecasters, Merchants, Sourcing, Retail, Sustain/ISS.

  • Proactively reviews category performance against metrics weekly such as: Serviceable Demand %, In stock %, New Store Fill Rate %, Receipts and End of Year Inventory levels. Identifies action steps.

  • Demonstrates effective troubleshooting and communication abilities cross-functionally. Able to influence assortment planning with credible relationships. May be selected as a Super User in support of established process.

  • Responsible for the execution of projects within own business area.
