As the Director of Pre-Sales, you will be the strategic leader responsible for unifying and empowering our regional solution engineering teams into a cohesive global force. You'll partner closely with customer success, product management, sales, and marketing to ensure we deliver exceptional value to our clients and prospects. You will be a trusted advisor to high-profile clients, guiding them through complex technical solutions and driving successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unify regional solution engineering teams into a high-performing global team.
  • Define and implement global best practices and standards for all stages of the sales cycle, from qualification to closing, and for technical account management.
  • Develop comprehensive onboarding and training programs, including learning paths and individual competency development, to foster continuous growth within the team.
  • Support Regional Business Leads (RBLs) in the recruitment and hiring of diverse and talented Solution Engineers.
  • Proactively fosters a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
  • Monitor and report on global team activity, including POCs, sales activities, and key performance indicators.
  • Support RBLs in promoting team satisfaction and retention through effective mentorship and development.
  • Organize and host team activities, including virtual meetings and offsites, to facilitate cross-regional exchange and knowledge sharing.
  • Serve as a technical contact and trusted advisor for high-priority prospects and top-tier customers across all regions.
  • Lead and support Proof of Concepts (POCs) and Proof of Values (POVs) for enterprise prospects, demonstrating the value of our solutions.
  • Provide expert technical support for cross-sell and up-sell opportunities within existing top-tier accounts.
  • Collaborate with customer success and IPS teams to deliver impactful customer workshops.
  • Partner with regional business leads and account teams to drive new revenue growth.
  • Develop and maintain technical content and sales enablement tools, such as solution blueprints and battle cards, in collaboration with product management and marketing.
  • Coordinate technical support for new regions and emerging markets.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of modern data-driven architectures and tools, from ETL to BI/Analytics.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Provide expert guidance on MPP databases (e.g. Exasol, Teradata, Vertica, Netezza, Greenplum, Redshift, Exadata, Impala).
  • Provide guidance on ETL routes.
  • Provide expert guidance on cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related technical field.
  • Extensive experience in pre-sales, technical post-sales, or BI/DWH consulting.
  • Proven track record of success in winning large enterprise opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of SQL, data warehousing, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Bash, R, C++).
  • Experience working with enterprise accounts and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Solution-oriented and results-driven approach.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, remote-first environment.
  • Location: Germany or UK.
  • Language: Fluency in German and English.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience with MPP databases (e.g. Exasol, Teradata, Vertica, Netezza, Greenplum, Redshift, Exadata, Impala).
  • Hands-on experience building and programming ETL routes.
