As the Engineering Technical Leader you will support the Kimberly Clark Professional Tissue & Towel Team, focusing primarily on process & product solutions for the Hand towel and tissue categories. This role is critical in delivering new product solutions to the fuel business growth as well as implementing manufacturing optimization and brand maintenance programs to deliver business results.  You will lead and manage multi-faceted R&D programs in support of realizing short term & long-term business objectives and collaborate with Family Care initiatives, supporting the overall One Tissue Network

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with Product Supply, Quality, Product Safety, Brand Marketing, Mills, and other cross-functional team members to:

  • Optimize the health of the current portfolio of towel & tissue products through effective renovation.

  • Deliver improved margins throughout the towel & tissue portfolio effectively balancing value creation and value capture (Product Design Cost Savings).

  • Lead support of Product Supply needs with External Contract Manufacturer’s towel & tissue supply.

  • Lead support of Central Certification efforts by maintaining the annual auditing of the NA Product Supply Mills and External contract Manufacturing (ECM).

  • Lead support of Capital engineering projects as necessary to support the towel & tissue portfolio.

  • Maintain technical and scientific expertise in Towel & Tissue technologies (i.e. UCTAD, LDC and Rolled & Folded Products Converting technologies) and communicate impact of developments on Kimberly-Clark.  Collaborate with the Kimberly-Clark Professional (KCP) Technical Leader and Strategist community, representing KCP North America team as the Towel & Tissue Technical Leader.

  • Utilize and promote the use of ETQ for the Commercialization Checklist, Specification Management, Change Management and Change Control to elevate Quality in all of Kimberly-Clark’s products and processes.

  • Drive a culture of protected and documented innovation to enhance K-C proprietary technology, products and business processes through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.

  • Manage the relationships between Central and NA R&E project teams to ensure effective knowledge transfer of technology development projects.

  • Develop, coordinate, and lead project management plans to ensure the innovation pipeline is commercialized with excellence and activities are executed on-time/on-cost.

  • Maintain documentation as required by the stage-gate development process.

  • Prepare and implement unit budgets and schedules.

  • Implement appropriate internal controls and standards to ensure compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations.

In one of our technical roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in related major scientific or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university, Process Engineering/Chemical Engineering &/or Paper Science degree preferred.

  • At least 12 years or more of relevant engineering experience in a variety of assignments, with B2B and/or mill experience preferred.

  • In-depth experience with the product/process design and commercialization process and a demonstrated ability to work through that process to deliver differentiated solutions to target customers. Preferred process/product design and commercialization experience in Towel & Tissue products.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, collaborate with, inspire, and influence multifunctional teams, including business unit marketing, sales and manufacturing, and product supply to drive results and customer satisfaction.

  • A demonstrated ability to lead teams that accomplish business objectives within required timeframes.

  • A track record of excellent project management, stakeholder management, presentation skills, and leadership skills.

  • Experience working with the business unit to develop, engage, and lead strategies/ projects.

  • Proven leadership in achieving cost transformation targets.

  • Experience as a thought leader demonstrating ability to influence others including senior leaders.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects through a stage-gate product development process.

  • Experience in developing/managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.

  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors, contract manufacturers, and internal manufacturing operations.

Salary Range: $128,000 - $158,000 USD

At Kimberly-Clark, pay is just one aspect of our total rewards package, which also includes a variety of benefits and opportunities to achieve, thrive and grow. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to US locations only.

This role is available for local candidates already authorized to work in the role’s country only. Kimberly-Clark will not provide relocation support for this role.
