JOB PURPOSE:
Are you ready to lead the charge in transforming tax compliance for a dynamic, forward-thinking organisation? We are seeking an innovative and inspiring Tax Lead to spearhead the tax function within our ERP implementation project. This role is a unique opportunity to combine your system expertise, strategic vision, and passion for innovation to redefine how tax compliance and reporting are managed across global markets.
As the Tax Lead, you’ll work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and expert collaboration, leveraging partnerships with leading outsource providers and driving a best-in-class approach to tax compliance. You will lead a transformative effort to ensure our systems and processes meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global tax landscape.
This role will exist for the project implementation duration, expected to be 2.5- 3 years.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reimagine Tax Processes:
Lead the reinvention of tax workflows to align with industry-leading practices and emerging trends.
Design scalable, automated solutions that enable accurate, real-time tax compliance across diverse jurisdictions.
Embed Controls in the processes for integrity of Tax reporting & compliance and automate these to achieve high level efficiency.
Drive a vision for tax excellence, leveraging the ERP system to unlock efficiencies and elevate operational standards.
Collaborate with the Best:
Partner with expert outsource providers to tap into deep, market-specific tax knowledge.
Ensure their insights are seamlessly integrated into the ERP system, aligning with business needs and compliance requirements.
Build a collaborative ecosystem where internal teams and external partners work in unison to achieve tax compliance excellence.
Transform ERP Tax Capabilities:
Drive standardized application of ERP’s enterprise structure and define tax Master data to address Global to Local needs and flexibility.
Determine the role of tax engines (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, OneSource) across our ecosystem and lead the implementation of any selected into the ERP platform.
Shape the ERP’s tax functionalities to anticipate regulatory changes and deliver actionable insights.
Pioneer the use of technology like AI and data analytics to enhance forecasting, reporting, and compliance monitoring.
Lead the Compliance Evolution:
Ensure the ERP system supports compliance with evolving tax laws, including VAT, GST, corporate taxes, and digital taxation requirements.
Build proactive mechanisms to address regulatory changes, reducing risks and enhancing agility.
Foster a culture of compliance excellence across the organization, ensuring tax integrity at every level.
Inspire Collaboration and Change:
Serve as a thought leader and inspire teams across finance, IT, and operations to embrace tax transformation.
Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions that empower teams to manage the new system with confidence.
Advocate for continuous improvement, creating processes that evolve with the business and regulatory environment.
Test, Validate, Perfect:
Lead rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure tax configurations deliver precise results.
Address gaps and enhance system functionality to support seamless tax reporting and compliance at go-live.
Drive Strategic Impact:
Act as the trusted tax advisor within the ERP implementation team, influencing critical decisions with strategic foresight.
Identify opportunities for tax efficiencies, savings, and incentives that create value for the organization.
Monitor global trends and leverage emerging opportunities to position the organization as a leader in tax compliance innovation.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Vision and Expertise:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
5+ years of experience in tax management, with a proven ability to drive innovation in global tax processes.
Expertise in ERP implementations and tax technology solutions.
Strategic Insight:
Good appreciation of global tax regulations, with a forward-looking approach to compliance challenges.
Familiarity with tax automation tools and emerging technologies like AI and data analytics.
Collaborative Leadership:
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
Experience working with external providers to achieve seamless integration of expert insights into operational processes.
