On behalf of our client Asahi Europe & International Company, GT is looking for a Data Architect interested in the retail domain.
Our client is one of the leading beverage companies in Australia and New Zealand, offering a diverse portfolio of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Its well-known brands include Schweppes, Cool Ridge, and Pepsi in the non-alcoholic segment, while the alcoholic portfolio features Asahi Super Dry, Peroni, and various craft beers, ciders, and spirits.
The company was formed in 2014 through the integration of Schweppes Australia, Asahi Premium Beverages, and Independent Liquor in New Zealand. With a strong focus on innovation and category growth, Asahi Beverages continues to evolve in response to changing consumer demands.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our data architecture to ensure optimal business usability, performance, security, and scalability. A critical aspect of this role is leveraging your experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry to design and implement CPG-specific data models, tailored to meet the unique needs and challenges of this domain. Your ability to draw on real-world CPG experiences, including understanding SKUs, cross-functional data perspectives, and best practices demanded by leading CPG companies, will be essential to success.
You will work closely with technical and business teams to understand their data needs and provide solutions that drive business success. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business transformation data and analytics initiatives.
Design and help implement in DataBricks SAP standard data models
Design CPG-specific data models by gathering and analyzing business and technical requirements in collaboration with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
Bring deep insights into CPG processes, sharing lessons learned and successful strategies from previous CPG roles to build robust, domain-specific solutions.
Establish and maintain data engineering and data architecture standards, creating and updating standards playbooks tailored for CPG needs.
Design and develop scalable and secure data architecture solutions that align with medallion architecture and data mesh principles.
Implement data models and pipelines using the Microsoft stack, ensuring they meet CPG-specific requirements (e.g., SKU hierarchies, supply chain KPIs, cross-functional views).
Enforce standards and ensure the delivery aligns with business specifications.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives by embedding lessons learned into the data architecture framework and training internal teams.
Support the development and enforcement of data governance policies with a focus on CPG-related data management.
Recommend optimizations for data models based on domain-specific insights.
Ownership and self-starter mindset with a strong passion for data architecture and engineering.
Proven experience in CPG or Retail industries, with a deep understanding of CPG-specific processes, KPIs, and challenges. Experience in the alcobev industry is a strong asset.
SAP S4 Data modeling experience is a must
Ability to share actionable insights from prior CPG roles, including practical examples of strategies that worked (or didn’t work) and why.
Data mesh design or Hub and Spoke design is an asset
Experience working with offshore and partnership models.
Strong expertise in data modeling, integration techniques, and datalakes.
Hands-on experience in medallion and data mesh architecture best practices.
Advanced hands-on experience in:
Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, PySpark.
Handling heterogeneous data sources and master data.
Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and DataOps.
Experience with Azure Fabric or Dataiku is a plus.
Experience in working with Databricks Engineers and know the way around Databricks
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is an asset.
