Job description

This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:
  • Contract type: Independent Contractor
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Pacific Time (40 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, organizing and managing activities of the general accounting function to ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of all financial results for the organization per GAAP
  • Help manage and oversee accounting functions including Cash, AP, GL, BS, cash management and forecasting, monthly and yearly close, fixed asset management, and financial reporting through NetSuite reporting
  • Assist with the Preparation of monthly reporting packages, including the preparation of balance sheet, and income and cash flow statements, Fixed Asset and CAPEX reporting and AP/AR agings
  • Coordinating the annual audit, including preparation of the financial statements and support schedules
  • Work with the Controller to help improve processes for the accounting processes, and create efficient operations that ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information - responsible for the “one version of the truth” as it relates to financials results
  • Acting as the catalyst for process improvements in the Finance and Accounting processes of each organization


Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting
  • 3-6 years of experience in public accounting, CPA and/or Big 4 experience preferred
  • 5+ years prior experience working for fast-growing companies as accounting manager/leader
  • Experience in eCommerce and working with inventory strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP mandatory, especially CAPEX, Lease and Revenue Recognition accounting
  • Self-starter, proactive, ability to prioritize and shift focus with ease and flexibility
  • Extremely detail oriented, diligent and thorough
  • Trustworthy and comfortable with sensitive data including salary, equity, etc.
