Job description

Are you ready to create impactful designs for a mission-driven brand? Do you thrive on collaborating across creative disciplines and bringing fresh ideas to life? Are you eager to help redefine the standard of care in women’s health?

The Lactation Network (TLN) is seeking a Designer III to craft engaging, visually compelling work across social, email, web, and more. In this role, you’ll collaborate with writers, art directors, and marketers to bring our brand to life, while sharpening your design skills and exploring new creative horizons. From social media graphics to motion design, you’ll play a key part in shaping TLN’s visual presence and helping families get the support they deserve.

We are a small, tight-knit, purpose-driven organization with big growth goals in 2025 and beyond. We don’t have all the answers and we don’t expect you to, either. We do expect you to be curious, hardworking, and striving to be your best self.

Breakdown of the Role

Design Execution (80%)

  • Create high-quality visuals for social media, email campaigns, websites, paid ads, and marketing collateral, including graphics, animations, and illustrations.
  • Develop creative concepts in collaboration with the team, translating ideas into visually compelling designs for both digital and print.
  • Partner closely with the Design Lead, copywriters, and marketers to ensure cohesive, effective creative that aligns with strategic goals and audience insights.
  • Take ownership of design projects, managing them from concept to final delivery with a focus on quality and attention to detail.

Collaboration & Growth (20%)

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative design ideas.
  • Work with senior designers, art directors, and writers to refine your craft.
  • Adapt designs based on feedback and performance data, always aiming to improve.
  • Stay current with design trends and emerging tools, applying them to keep our brand fresh and relevant.

What You’ll Do

  • Design a variety of assets for social media, emails, websites, digital ads, and more.
  • Develop motion graphics and animations to add depth and dynamism to our visual expression.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all deliverables, upholding TLN’s brand standards.
  • Present your work and articulate design decisions to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of TLN’s visual identity.

What We Expect from You

  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience.
  • A portfolio showcasing work across social media, email, print, and digital platforms.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects) and Figma.
  • Experience in motion design is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of design principles: typography, layout, color theory, and composition.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating culturally relevant, engaging visuals.
  • Social media fluency — you anticipate trends and have the judgment to know which ones are right for us.
  • Ability to take feedback with humility and use it to grow.
  • Great communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What We’d Also Love to See

  • Experience with motion design, animation, and/or illustration.
  • Familiarity with healthcare and/or mission-driven brands.
  • Experience/familiarity with UX best practices and how they inform design decisions.
  • Passion for advancing women’s health and supporting families.

What you can expect from us

  • Unlimited PTO. We work hard. We’re passionate about what we’re building together. We also have lives outside work.
  • Healthcare benefits. Medical plus voluntary vision, dental. (We are a healthcare company, after all.)
  • 401(k) with 4% employer match. We’re planning for the future—and we want to help you do the same.
  • Remote-first culture. We are a distributed, remote-first team. We also like spending time together in our Chicago office and have a flexible in-office culture for those who wish to return to work in-person.
  • Mindfulness and Meditation App. You’ll have complimentary access to the leading app for meditations, sleep stories, and other wellness resources.
  • Recharge. We have one designated “no meeting day” each week so you can take a break from videoconferencing and have some quiet time to focus.
  • Professional development. We invest in our team by offering every employee access to a professional development budget.
  • Competitive compensation. We’re looking for top talent
  • A growth environment. The sky’s the limit.
