We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with a strong proficiency in PowerShell, familiarity with monitoring and backup tools, and expertise in Microsoft Active Directory and Azure. The ideal candidate will focus on automation and documentation creation to streamline operations and improve system efficiency.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance automation scripts using PowerShell to optimize system operations.
Monitor system performance and availability using tools such as What’s Up Gold, SolarWinds, Control UP and Dynatrace.
Installing new systems, configuring settings, and deploying updates across the organization.
Implement and manage backup solutions using Cohesity and Veeam to ensure data integrity and availability.
Administer and support Microsoft Active Directory and associated services, including DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Manage and support cloud infrastructure and services on Microsoft Azure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system requirements and develop comprehensive documentation.
Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and patches for both servers and workstation to ensure optimal performance and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalant work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering supporting or related field.
Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
Strong technical knowledge of operating systems, networking protocols, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as What’s Up Gold, SolarWinds, ControlUp, or Dynatrace.
Experience with backup tools like Cohesity and Veeam.
Solid understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and associated services.
Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud services management.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of system issues.
Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with virtualization (VMware or Microsoft)
Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Experience with Citrix VDI/published applications, and Azure AVD is a plus.
Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server).
Experience with other scripting languages like Python or Bash.
Knowledge of ITIL practices and principles.
Experience with other cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
