What does a successful Area Sales Manager do at Fiserv?

The Area Sales Manager will be a recognised leader of our field-based Business Consultants to grow the level of boarded small and medium sized (SMB) businesses in their designated region. This is short cycle merchant services sales team operating in a region of the UK. You will be primarily targeted on levels of new merchants activated by your sales team, but you will also be responsible for managing the quality of sales (customer longevity, satisfaction etc).

You will be a senior member of the Clover UK Sales team reporting into the Field Sales Director. You will be responsible for the overall success of the team of business consultants that you manage and the level of sales in your region. In this regard, the role is preferred to be conducted primarily in the Field with your team, customers and prospects.

What you will do:

  • Lead, manage and motivate a team of successful Business Consultants in your region. Recruit, retain and manage a highly effective sales team via day-to-day management but also in delivering effective training plans and strategies that gain greater value from our salespeople
  • You will be adept at developing sales and lead generation strategies in this business-to-business environment (B2B), As well as leveraging Clover partner relationships (or micro merchant sales for Clover's various organizations or verticals) to source sales opportunities.
  • You will also be responsible for building a sustainable pipeline of new business with consistent performance across the whole team while also being mindful of sales strategies that help Clover retain clients for the long term.
  • Be responsible for and continually improve the quality of sales in terms of customer longevity, complaint levels, regulatory obligations and standards and so on.
  • As the lead a regional Salesforce, you will always represent Fiserv values of embodying the highest ethical standards and treating others with dignity, respect, and genuine concern and ensuring your team do the same

What you will need to have:

  • Prior experience in a quota driven self-sourcing sales environment for small to medium size clients & thriving in a sales incentive plan environment.
  • Prior experience in Sales Scoping and Qualification, Sales Closing and Agreements, Field Sales/TeleSales/ Prospecting.
  • Track record of delivering high level of results against sales and other KPIs.
  • Ability to adapt to short cycle sales environment and constantly evolve the sales approach.
  • Knowledge of Product Lines being sold.

  • Track record of managing people and delivering high level of results and motivation.
  • Experience in selling a range of value-added solutions and knowledge of their features and benefits for customers.
  • Track record in recruiting, retaining and motivating high calibre staff and managing performance across individuals.
  • Track record of supporting the implementation of and managing organisational change to achieve KPIs and objectives.
