For one of our clients, we are looking for an Accounting Specialist, remotely from Mexico City.
As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing payroll, compliance, and financial operations across multiple countries. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly in Mexican tax and financial systems, and the ability to coordinate payroll and bookkeeping operations across Canada, the US, and Mexico. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will be crucial in ensuring smooth financial processes and regulatory compliance across all entities.
Accountabilities
Payroll Management: Process payroll for entities in Canada, the US, and Mexico, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
Accounting for Mexican Entity: Handle bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax compliance for the Mexican entity, ensuring alignment with local regulations.
Expense Monitoring: Review employee expenses for policy adherence, including Learning & Development (L&D) expenses, and generate reports on trends.
Taxes & Filings: Oversee tax filings and ensure compliance across all countries, liaising with external advisors and staying updated on regulatory changes.
Requirements
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or relevant experience.
Proficient in Mexican accounting and tax systems, with knowledge of Canadian and US systems being a plus.
Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial reporting, and accounting practices.
Experience with local bookkeeping systems and regulations in Mexico.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines across different jurisdictions.
