The Finance team at Clover Health is a group of strategic partners providing financial and operational insights that drive informed decision-making and efficient capital allocation. We are looking for a strategic and dynamic Chief of Staff to partner closely with the CFO, Finance team, Executive Assistant to the CFO, and other Chiefs of Staff. This high impact role will act as a trusted advisor and proxy for the CFO, driving strategic initiatives, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring seamless execution of key priorities. The Chief of Staff will lead complex company-wide projects, manage senior stakeholder deadlines, and support strategic planning and decision-making. The ideal candidate is a data-driven, principle-oriented leader with exceptional organizational, communication, and influencing skills who is also passionate about driving impact and advancing Clover’s mission.
As a Chief of Staff to the CFO, you will:
- Apply a first principles and data-driven approach to solving problems and identify opportunities, leveraging business acumen and strategic thinking to guide decision making processes.
- Support and build cross-functional relationships with key partners across the organization, motivating teams and individuals to achieve goals while enforcing accountability.
- Align initiatives with core business objectives, establishing and optimizing processes to drive measurable progress, growth, and value creation.
- Provide regular status updates to the CFO on key projects and initiatives, proactively identifying and removing obstacles and adjusting priorities.
- Ensure meetings are well-prepared, focused, and effective by proactively defining goals, roles, and expectations. Drive efficiency by facilitating high quality discussions and ensuring timely follow-ups.
- Serve as a gatekeeper by reviewing and refining documents and presentations to ensure quality, clarity, and alignment before they reach the CFO.
- Collaborate with the CFO’s Executive Assistant to strategically plan and optimize the CFO’s time – ensuring efficiency, impact, and value add across priorities.
- Create and deliver executive presentations and communication strategies for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
Success in this role looks like:
- In your first 90 days, you will:
- Design and establish a framework to implement the Chief of Staff’s scope of responsibilities.
- Provide consistent, high-quality support to the CFO, including strategic planning, meeting preparation, and issue resolution.
- After 6 months you will:
- Have successfully completed multiple projects, demonstrating the ability to manage complex, high-impact initiatives.
- Have built strong cross-functional relationships with key internal and external partners.
- Future success in this role includes:

- You have 10+ years of experience in Chief of Staff roles, operational management, consulting, or healthcare strategy.
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or Master’s) is a plus.
- You excel in project management and leading complex initiatives with measurable results.
- You have exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities and are familiar with business strategy, financial statements, core business metrics, and have strong research skills.
- You are an exceptional communicator with demonstrated ability to articulate complex information effectively to various stakeholders.
- You demonstrate high emotional intelligence and can motivate and influence others effectively.
- You are proficient in data analysis tools (Excel, Google Suite, etc.).
- You thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing attention to detail with strategic thinking and ethical leadership.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $110,000 to $187,000. Final pay is based on several factors including but not limited to internal equity, market data, and the applicant’s education, work experience, certifications, etc.
