Job description

Program Manager, Center for Student & Staff Wellbeing
Hillel International
Role Overview
Are you passionate about fostering well-being through a Jewish lens?
Do you thrive in designing systems that drive meaningful, lasting impact?
Are you a connector who builds strong relationships, leads meaningful conversations, and moves projects forward with care and precision?
If so, we want you on our team.

Hillel International’s Center for Student & Staff Wellbeing aims to empower Hillel professionals with the skills and lived experience to cultivate a vibrant Jewish future through intentional, deeply Jewish environments that support student thriving. To achieve this, we are looking for a Program Manager who will elevate our impact, broaden essential initiatives, and provide Hillel professionals with the resources and experiences needed to foster deeply Jewish environments where students can flourish. As a key member of a small but high-impact team, the Program Manager will report to the Senior Director and collaborate across Hillel International’s Jewish Education, Community, and Culture department.

This role bridges strategy and execution—combining big-picture thinking with tactical implementation to drive real impact across the Hillel movement.

What You’ll Do
  • Strengthen movement-wide impact by facilitating consultations and ensuring Hillel professionals can access expert guidance.
  • Manage and improve grant processes that fuel well-being innovation across campuses—refining systems for application, tracking, and impact reporting.
  • Facilitate dynamic workshops and group discussions, supporting professional learning and best practice-sharing.
  • Synthesize and share key insights — elevating success stories, tracking impact, and creating engaging reports for Hillel professionals, stakeholders, and funders.
  • Build and reinforce sustainable systems to streamline workflows and enhance collaboration.

This is an opportunity to shape and refine systems, grow as an experienced facilitator in Jewish well-being, and contribute to the long-term success of Hillel professionals and the students they serve.

What You’ll Bring to the Job
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, grants management, program facilitation, or a related field, with a strong track record of success in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Experience working with college students in campus, community-based, or camp settings, emphasizing relationship-building and creating meaningful experiences.
  • Systems & process proficiency: The ability to design, refine, and reinforce sustainable processes that improve team workflows, grant administration, and program impact.
  • Curiosity & customer service orientation: You approach your work with a problem-solving mindset, deep listening, and a commitment to service — ensuring stakeholders feel supported and valued.
  • Communication & storytelling skills: You can synthesize complex information into clear, compelling reports and success stories for Hillel professionals, stakeholders, and funders.
  • Familiarity with Jewish well-being: An appreciation for how Jewish tradition and community shape well-being, with a commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible environments for students and professionals alike.
  • Facilitation & training experience: You don’t need to be a subject-matter expert, but you excel at guiding discussions, designing learning experiences, and leading engaging group sessions.
  • Commitment to inclusion: A demonstrated ability to build spaces that embrace diverse identities and experiences. Your pluralistic approach to Jewish life ensures all voices are valued.
  • Capacity & team awareness: You proactively assess personal and team dynamics, ensuring sustainable practices that balance multiple priorities effectively.
Location & Remote Work

This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based in Eastern or Central time zones to facilitate team collaboration.

What You’ll Receive

Competitive salary in the range of $55,000–$65,000, plus comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, life insurance, LTD, and more).

A flexible work-from-home policy, generous vacation, and paid time off, including Jewish and federal holidays. DC area candidates can work from Hillel International headquarters near Penn Quarter and City Center.

Access to professional development through Hillel U and partner organizations.

Engagement opportunities across Hillel International, wellbeing nonprofits, and the broader Jewish world.

A dedicated, passionate team that values collaboration, creativity, and joy in our work.

Travel 4-6 times a year to conferences, campuses, and communities across the country.

Mission-driven impact to create healthier, more thriving Jewish communities.
