Hiire is helping Blip, a leading tech company focused on software engineering solutions for sports entertainment, hire a Engineering Manager to join their team.

The role

You’ll lead, inspire and motivate a multi-disciplinary software development team of up to 6 developers and 1 QA and work alongside them to deliver within a high-quality and outcome-oriented culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the growth and career development of your team, appraising performance and providing guidance.
  • Oversee the hiring process and ensure the successful delivery of your team.
  • Act as a liaison between the delivery team and key stakeholders (internal or external).
  • Collaborate with peers to align on initiatives, priorities, and proactively identify risks and dependencies across all project phases.
  • Support product owners and other change drivers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Track, analyze, and support your team through changes to drive efficiency, quality, and better outcomes using Scrum methodology.
Your Qualifications – Must Have
  • A technical background with a proven track record of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams delivering complex software projects;
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to engage, communicate, negotiate and work towards compromise and success during our product lifecycle.
  • Experience leading people and supporting their career development plans;
  • Demonstrated expertise in fostering and advancing a collaborative team culture;
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, particularly concerning technical risks, issues, and constraints; 
  • Senior principles, leading by example, showing work ethic and passionate, professional attitude; 
  • Knowledge of distributed, redundant, and transactional systems and the quality assurance of these; 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Portuguese); 
  • Proven track record of Incident Management; 
  • Experience using defect tracking systems.
