Job description

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a global, nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., working to improve human health, sustainability and resilience in the built environment through its programs and standards including LEED, the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Today, people in over 180 countries and territories live, work and learn in LEED certified buildings, communities and cities that protect health, climate and natural resources and enhance quality of life. 

 

USGBC seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to support partnership development efforts. This role will primarily focus on gathering data and metrics to help analyze partnerships across the team, track benefits, and manage relationship and benefits details. This position will play a key role in ensuring seamless administration, organizational and event support.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data on USGBC partnerships to help assess trends, effectiveness, and opportunities for growth.
  • Maintain and track partnership benefits, ensuring timely fulfillment and reporting.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of partner engagement, events, and key interactions.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new partnership opportunities and industry trends.
  • Assist with USGBC’s presence at industry events, including coordination, outreach, and post-event reporting.
  • Support internal coordination and communication related to partnership initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings and presentations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education & Training Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate (Junior or Senior) or graduate program of study.
  • Studies and research interests in sustainability, business administration, environmental science, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.

 

Other Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of sustainability, green building, and environmental education, particularly as it relates to corporate and organizational partnerships.
  • Strong research and data analysis skills.
  • Detail-oriented and skillful in project management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems, data visualization, or willingness to learn data management tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Dropbox.
  • Ability to adapt and work in a rapidly changing environment 
  • Eager, adaptive to change, receptive to feedback and resourceful  

 

Details: 

  • Part-time/Full-time, hourly  
  • Location: 2101 L Street NW, Washington, DC or remote 
  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm EST, 40 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends
