This role demands a high level of technical expertise, customer interaction, and strategic input to drive CIENA's market presence and solution adoption in the Mexican market by contributing toward both operational and tactical objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizing CIENA's design and modeling tools proficiently.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for the Mexican market, advising on CIENA solutions for next-generation architectures.
  • Preparing detailed quotations and proposals for a range of technologies such as DWDM, Carrier Ethernet, IP, software and multilayer/multi technology solutions.
  • Presenting complex designs and interfacing with sales and product management/marketing teams to develop strategies and product enhancements based on customer needs.
  • The role requires travel primarily within Mexico.
  • Conducting demonstrations, market trials, product certifications, and evaluating solutions.
  • Providing technical consultancy to customers on the CIENA Portfolio and Solutions.
  • Performing cost/benefit analyses for complex business cases.
  • Serving as a technical mentor to junior professionals.

SKILLS

  • Technical expertise in Optical networking including understanding of Optical Switching, OTN, Metro and LH DWDM, Carrier Ethernet, IP and multilayer/converged solutions.
  • Desired knowledge on Submarine technology
  • Hands on expertise in Optical Switching, OTN, Metro and LH DWDM, Carrier Ethernet and IP solutions.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex information.
  • A good understanding of telecommunications network architectures
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including coordinating the work activities of other team members.
  • Bilingual capabilities in both Spanish and English, essential for effective communication in diverse environments.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

  • The ability to demonstrate experience in technical sales activities
  • Understanding technology trends like AI


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Technical Degree; BSEE, Electronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 10 years telecommunication industry experience
  • Prior experience as a contributor on sales engineering/account team  at least for 7 years
