🤖 Engineering at Sano
As an Engineering Manager at Sano, you’ll lead a team of software engineers to deliver impactful solutions, shape our technical strategy, and foster a collaborative, high-growth environment.
You’ll manage team operations, set clear expectations, and provide mentorship to help engineers do their best work and grow. Working closely with Product, Design, and other teams, you’ll drive new features and technical initiatives while ensuring scalability and efficiency.

What you'll be doing:

Team Leadership - Fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented culture, ensuring engineers are supported, motivated, and delivering great work.

Project & Delivery Management - Managing team capacity, ways of working and priorities to keep projects on track and aligned with company goals.

People Management - Managing and coaching up to 6 direct reports through the entire employee lifecycle from hiring; onboarding; performance management and development.

Technical Excellence - Driving technical initiatives and processes that raise the bar for our Engineering practices.

Stakeholder Management - Collaboratively defining and delivering on technical requirements and product goals. Promoting cross-functional teamwork and communication.

Risk Management - Identifying and mitigating risks to delivery and customer experience, proactively addressing challenges to minimise disruption.

Scaling Best Practices - Helping to refine engineering-wide practices to boost efficiency and support future growth.
This job is for you if you:
- Have proven experience leading high-performing agile engineering teams in a fast-paced environment

Think strategically - balancing short-term execution with long-term scalability
- Can drive impact autonomously, making decisions that align engineering with business goals
- Have a deep understanding of engineering best practices and can challenge decisions constructively
- Are an effective communicator, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical teams
- Lead with a people-first mindset, mentoring engineers and creating an environment for growth
- Thrive in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with Product, Design, and Clinical teams
Even better if you have:
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
- A strong product mindset, making data-driven engineering decisions

Software engineering experience (Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, etc.)
- Experience building and leading in a remote-first culture
This role is unlikely to be a great match if:
- You’re looking for a hands-on coding role – while technical expertise is valued, this is a managerial only role
- You don’t have proven experience as an engineering manager – or have have been managing for under a year
- You prefer a structured, slow-paced environment – we need adaptability and autonomy in a fast-growing startup
