Pay Rate: $18-$20/hour

Days and Time:  8:00am-4:30pm Monday thru Friday (this position does allow for some flexibility)

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Primary responsibility will be the billing and follow up on individual accounts assigned
  • Manage the status of accounts and their balances, while identifying inconsistencies that may delay claim processing
  • Make appropriate corrections to denied or rejected claims, with respect to individual payer guidelines to ensure timely claim resolution
  • File appeals with payers as needed, with respect to individual payer guidelines to ensure timely claim resolution
  • Contact payers using various communication methods to: verify the adjudication of a claim, verifying coverages and claim status 
  • Update multiple account receivable databases with new information and documentation of relevant follow up efforts with clean and reliable data
  • Identify and post payments, debits and credits
  • Ensure all department/and or client expectations are met
  • Provide feedback to department and/or clients regarding possible solutions to any potential problems
  • Takes responsibility and ownership for a problem, project or issue.
  • Maintain high performance and composure under pressure, opposition or criticism.
  • Productively focuses time and resources on activities to produce quality results.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Work Requirements:

  • 7-year Background Check
  • Experience with Medicare DDE Online system 
  • Medicare billing and follow-up experience 
  • Experience with billing and appeals
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Associate degree preferred. 
  • 1 – 3-year experience in Customer Service
  • Excellent leadership, organizational skills
  • Proven ability to develop relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • MS Office 
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems/screens simultaneously
