Responsibilities and Expectations: Senior Electrical Engineer

Responsibility: E&I Design

• Contribute on projects for the preliminary stage through startup.
• Electrical / Instrumentation / Controls Design.
• o Create or mark-up existing drawings as required to communicate design intent.
• o Perform field work.
• Inspecting plant conditions.
• Verifying existing plant conditions.
• Routing tray, conduit, or cable.
• Layout new equipment for most efficient use of space and resources.
• o Preliminary design for installation of motors, instruments, and controls.
• o Coordinate with other disciplines as required to produce projects with the lowest total installed cost
• possible.
• o Check design work for accuracy to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• o Design loop sheets, elementaries, system architecture, and other wiring diagrams.
• Support Scope and Estimates and proposal development.
• Provide construction and startup support.
• Work closely with clients.
• Pursue and develop business relationships.

Responsibility: Project Management 

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Lead scope development efforts by interfacing with clients as needed.
• Communicate scope needs to designers or other engineers.
• Obtain quotes for engineering, equipment, materials, and services.
• Develop bid packages, lead bid meetings, and evaluate bids.
• Manage procurement and construction activities.
• Coordinate project safety, timing, and other issues.
• Lead checkout and startup activities.
• Control documents generated during the course of the project.
• o Issue documents to clients for permanent storage.
• Close out projects in file system

Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university is required.

Registration: Professional Engineering registration preferred but not essential.

Experience: This position requires 5+ years heavy industrial experience.
