A well-known government organisation is seeking a skilled Security Technical Consultant to drive the implementation and optimisation of security controls across complex environments. This organisation is committed to strengthening its cyber resilience by enhancing device, operating system, and identity security at scale.
The Role
Are you an experienced security professional with expertise in device security, identity security, and endpoint protection? As a Security Technical Consultant, you will lead the technical direction of Security Engineers, ensuring effective security control implementation across large and diverse environments. You will work closely with operational teams, security stakeholders, and engineering teams to prioritise security measures, remove blockers, and enhance visibility through advanced security analytics.
Key Requirements
Expertise in device security controls for Windows (server & client) and Linux (server).
Strong knowledge of identity security, including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Defender for Identity.
Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, including Attack Surface Reduction, next-gen endpoint protection, and EDR.
Solid understanding of networking principles and security implications.
Hands-on experience with Azure fundamentals, Git concepts, and Kusto Query Language (KQL).
Ability to engage stakeholders effectively, communicate security risks, and drive adoption of security controls.
Experience in visual reporting using tools such as Power BI, Sentinel, and Logic Apps.
On Offer
Full remote position, with possibility of working in Auckland office.
Initial contract until 30/06/2025.
