Amida Technology Solutions is seeking a Cloud Architect. This role will report to Enterprise Data Architect. This opportunity is either hybrid or remote. The Cloud Architect must have considerable experience in designing, automating, implementing, and monitoring all aspects of MS Azure cloud instances. In this role you will provide cloud/solution architectural expertise as well as practical engineering and implementation of systems as we develop solutions for our clients. You will help with the business development activities related to cloud opportunities and will be responsible for describing our approach to cloud architecture and provisioning them in our proposals.

What Will You Do

• Design and provide architectural oversight for enterprise cloud infrastructure and analytics platforms
• This role will be responsible for designing and implementing Azure cloud solutions, including data analytics platforms, data lakes, security frameworks, and infrastructure automation
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that systems are designed and implemented in a scalable manner and optimized for performance
• Lead architecture or client calls with other architects, engineers, and support staff while explaining the nuances of the design approach
• Develop and implement cloud governance frameworks and security controls aligned with federal standards
• Create reference architectures and provide hands-on implementation guidance for critical components
• Lead technical direction for data platform solutions including cloud migration, data warehousing and analytics services
• Guide development teams on architectural decisions while maintaining hands-on involvement in key implementations
• Provide technical expertise in business development activities and solution proposals
  
  

Required Skills

• 5+ years of recent professional experience in cloud architecture, solutions architecture (in the cloud), and/or cloud engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure analytics services (Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Data Lake Storage)
• Experience provisioning, using, and optimizing Microsoft Azure infrastructure
• Strong proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code implementation
• Extensive experience with cloud networking concepts and implementation:
• Virtual Networks and Subnets
• Network Security Groups and Firewalls
• ExpressRoute and VPN configurations
• Load Balancers and Application Gateways
• Proven experience in cloud migration strategies and implementation:
• Assessment and planning of workload migration
• Lift-and-shift vs. re-architecture approaches
• Data migration and data transfer methods
• Experience with additional automation tools (e.g., Ansible) for configuration management
• Working knowledge of containerization platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Experience with ETL and ELT pipelines and data warehousing concepts
• Ability to communicate concisely and persuasively with software engineers and clients
• Ability to work with the federal government and be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
