Position Overview

The Licensing, Contracting, Appointments (LCA) Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of Financial Professional (FP) Contracting activities and FP record maintenance with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness and process efficiency. This client-facing role (Financial Professionals are our clients) will report to the Vice President of Licensing Contracting and Commissions (LCC) and is pivotal to establishing a high-quality Financial Professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership:
  • Lead a team dedicated to delivering a seamless onboarding and service experience for our FPs, with a focus on quality and efficient execution within established service level agreements.
  • Drive procedure and protocol improvements that elevate the FP experience through timely, consistent, predictable, accurate and efficient operations.
  • Establish key controls and risk-based quality measures to ensure all onboarding, record maintenance, E&O functions, reporting and FP interactions meet the highest standards of accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
  • Establish strong relationships with FPs and distribution leadership stakeholders to drive engagement and expand market presence.
  • Work with the head of compensation to ensure a seamless experience between FP onboarding, ongoing record maintenance experiences and compensation payments.
  • Daily Production Functions:
  • Own all aspects of FP onboarding, appointment oversight, demographic record maintenance, terminations, E&O processes and administration functions to ensure accuracy and completeness of FP records. Ensure functional attributes are appropriately represented during system changes, new product installations, strategic initiatives and other events that may directly or indirectly impact FP record integrity and service experience.
  • Design and develop administrative policies, workflows, metrics, and dashboards for contracting, record maintenance and termination administration, including appointment activities, contact phone lines and all functions completed by the team.
  • Drive efforts to minimize company appointment expenses through effective management of JIT appointments, termination for lack of production protocols and JIT contracting where applicable.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Build and mentor high-performing team members, fostering a culture of quality, accuracy excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and expertise in life insurance and annuity products and services.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, streamline operations, and enhance customer satisfaction across all departmental areas.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative technologies and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including FPs, Distribution, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Audit and industry associations.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the executive benefits market segment related to contracting support functions.
  • Partner with leadership in Product, Finance, Distribution and IT to ensure alignment of service level delivery, project execution and controls.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies for FP solicitation and commission payment activities – taking a leadership role in ensuring ‘Can Sell’, ‘Can Service’ and ‘Can Pay’ functions are aligned with company, regulatory and state mandates.
  • Mitigate risks associated with operational activities through proactive risk management strategies and adherence to industry best practices.

Skills And Abilities

  • Solid understanding of the commission, onboarding, appointment, E&O, FP demographic record maintenance and termination functions, controls & administration for the Life insurance industry. (High proficiency)
  • Proven leadership experience in driving strategic initiatives, managing teams, and delivering results in a complex organizational environment. (High proficiency)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve business outcomes. (High proficiency)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. (High proficiency)
  • Deep understanding of the risk and control functions, reconciliation and regulatory requirements of all aspects of contracting and appointment functions (High proficiency)
  • Possess understanding of the various distribution models (Broker/Dealer, Career, Independent, Direct) and the nuances of each to ensure appropriate procedures, controls and service models. (Medium proficiency)
  • Proven experience with market tools and platforms in the Contracting and Appointment space, with specific experience with multi system platforms and integration with third party solutions. (Medium proficiency)

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field Required

Experience

  • More than 10 Years Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the Life & Annuity industry Required

Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $174,000
