Job description

Position Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Sales Representative, where you'll drive revenue growth by targeting strategic customers, markets, and geographies for our Roll Label business. If you excel in sales and have a deep understanding of Mactac and Spinnaker products, pricing, and services, this is the perfect opportunity for you. You'll match our products to customer needs and stay ahead in the competitive roll label landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Strong Relationships: Establish and maintain positive business relationships with key personnel in technical, production, purchasing, and management areas. Open new accounts and expand sales in existing ones.
  • Resolve Issues: Coordinate and resolve product performance, pricing, and service issues between assigned accounts and Mactac.
  • Customer Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of Mactac's business, available opportunities, and strategies to grow and retain business.
  • Pre-call Planning: Conduct thorough pre-call planning to understand customer needs, prepare relevant materials, and set clear objectives for each sales call. This includes researching customer backgrounds, identifying potential challenges, and strategizing on how to present our products effectively.
  • Sales Presentations: Organize and conduct customer sales presentations in person, via TEAMS, phone, and email.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventories to achieve corporate goals.
  • Accounts Receivable: Help manage accounts receivable with support from the Sales Manager and Credit Department.
  • Reporting: Provide various reports, including CRM Sales Call Reports, Weekly Business Reports, and Annual Forecasts.
  • Planning: Submit weekly business activity schedules to the Sales Manager.
  • Account Strategy: Complete account profiles and strategy forms in CRM.
  • Custom Opportunity Identification: Diligently seek new custom and specialty customer opportunities.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Communicate competitive developments in your territory to management.
  • Expense Management: Manage expenses within agreed limits and timelines.
  • Field Support: Coordinate with Sales Management, R&D, Marketing, and Field Service for field trials and customer start-ups.
  • Value Documentation: Maintain accurate records summarizing the value delivered by Mactac.
  • Internal Relationships: Foster excellent internal business relationships with Customer Service, Marketing, R&D, and other departments.
  • Customer Visits: Initiate and orchestrate customer visits to company operations.
  • Knowledge Maintenance: Stay proactive in maintaining knowledge of Mactac, Spinnaker, and customer product lines, as well as allied and customer industries.
  • Skill Development: Continuously improve skills to maintain product and industry knowledge, including communication and computer skills.
  • CRM Management: Document and update all customer information in the CRM database.

  • Physical Requirements: Travel required, including overnight by auto and air. Must occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds. Extensive travel, phone, and computer use from home office.

  • Reports to: Regional Sales Manager
  • Location: Portion of OH & TN, Southern IN, Charlotte NC & all KY
  • Travel: 50-75%

Selection Criteria

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Experience: 5-10 years of successful roll label sales experience required. Trade shows, seminars, and publications experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to create and deliver presentations professionally. Strong understanding of equipment fundamentals.
  • Software: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, & ACT preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in Pressure Sensitive Adhesives strongly preferred.
