Job Title: Volunteering Opportunities Coordinator

Job Location: Flexible in the UK

Salary: £26,188 - £29,000 Per Annum based on 35 hours per week (Actual hours worked are 17.5 per week)

Contract Type: Permanent

The British Red Cross is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Volunteering Opportunities Coordinator to join our team and help us make a positive impact!


As a Volunteering Opportunities Coordinator, you will be the driving force behind developing and managing a diverse range of volunteer opportunities that align with our mission and meet the needs of our community.


What does a day in the life of a Volunteering Opportunities Coordinator look like?

  • Efficient Recruitment: Contribute to the efficient recruitment of volunteers across the organization, transforming processes to adapt to new volunteering models in support of the Volunteering Strategy.
  • Embed continuous improvement mechanisms to ensure a high-quality volunteer and service manager experience, making us the charity of choice for volunteering.
  • Designing Recruitment Plans: Contribute to designing recruitment plans and support relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Volunteer Support Line (VSL): Be part of a rota response for the Volunteer Support Line, offering practical and emotional support to all BRC volunteers. Respond to their questions or concerns about their volunteering tasks, provide a listening ear, and signpost to further help if necessary.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities, manage databases, and handle other administrative duties as needed.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in volunteer coordination, program management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Passion for the mission of the British Red Cross.
  • Proficiency in using volunteer management software and tools.
