General Summary:
Velocity is seeking a technically savvy Senior IT Engineer with a strong background in managed services, capable of managing and executing various IT projects from ideation to completion. The successful candidate will have a diverse set of skills, including but not limited to Office 365, endpoint management, server software installation, RMM and PSA, Active Directory management, and cloud experience (Azure / AWS).
Velocity, A Managed Solutions Company, operates in many diverse and vendor agnostic networks and environments. The candidate for this role will be responsible for quickly understanding and operating in these environments, using existing documentation and independent discovery.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team and clients, foster team technical expertise
- Serve as a primary escalation point and team leader for our IT team
- Effectively communicating complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner
- Establish processes for achieving technical excellence and ensure the adherence to high-quality standards in all project deliverables
- Technical lead for managed customer project requests
- Execute all stages of IT projects including Office 365, SharePoint, and server migration to Azure
- Execute server hardware and software installations, maintain detailed documentation of the installations, and ensure their compatibility with the existing IT infrastructure
- Oversee Intune deployment across client organizations, ensuring all devices are properly configured and compliant with company policies
- Collaborate with team members (other engineers) to make sure the project goals are met
- Create and maintain strong working relationships with our technical resources and team leaders
- Interface and managing multiple vendors in the delivery of services
- Manage and perform technical communications with internal and external parties
- Manage and contribute to our internal documentation as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
- This position participates in on-call rotation and may provide support off hours, as required
- This position may require travel occasionally
- Experience with Manage Engine ServiceDesk Plus and NinjaOne RMM a plus
- PowerShell and other scripting experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Microsoft portfolio of technologies (Azure, M365, SharePoint, Exchange, Intune, AD / GPOs, etc.)
- Proficiency in server management and network configuration
- Able to operate independently and self-directed with limited supervision
- Strong time management skills, including the ability to multi-task and stay multi-threaded, ensuring efforts are delivered on time and on budget
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders
- A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise and find effective solutions
- Ability to independently lift and carry 35 lbs.
Qualifications, Experience and Education:
- Required — Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent technical experience (5+ years)
- Required — Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Active Directory
- Preferred — Industry relevant certifications – e.g. Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Microsoft 365 (MD-100, MD-101, MS-203, MS-700), Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP, ITIL, etc.
