Technical skills (Must haves)

"Most of the current infrastructure runs on an older Kubernetes cluster provisioned by kOps. We are seeking a person to help us transition from this single cluster to a multi-cluster setup running on EKS.

A few key changes we are making
Moving from one cluster to 3 separate clusters (Prod, staging, Monitoring)
Replacing Kong with nginx ingress controller.
Replacing vault with AWS secrets manager.
Replacing cluster autoscaler with karpenter.

We are seeking an expert to focus purely on this migration along with our existing DevOps team

That Also Have Additional Responsibilities. .

Here are some skills we are looking for

Kubernetes Guru
K8s KOPS experience
AWS EKS experience // AWS EC2
Cluster Autoscaler and Karpenter experience
Experience in Multiregion Solutions
Communication between different AWS AZ’s, regions and accounts
Terraform
Secret Management tools like vault and AWS secrets manager including secrets rotation
Observability stack experience such as prometheus, loki and grafana
Experience with kong, nginx ingress controller
Experience with github actions"

Soft skills

Strong Communication Skills, transparency and fluid communication.
Strong documentations skills where all the migration get tracked and documented.
Be a fast learner and passionate about discovering new technologies.
Have an eye for security, striving to minimize attack surfaces and vulnerabilities.
Come with strong opinions on how to simplify and improve our stack.
Be comfortable wearing a Solutions Engineer hat, helping teams to troubleshoot issues ranging from ingress routing to resource allocation to permissions administration.
Be able to provide and receive feedback constantly.
Make documentation on the fly.
