Job description

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Responsible for a variety of tasks relating to the flawless output of data for all surveys run by the business and teams globally. The Data Processing Specialist will enhance and assist with the Quality Assurance processes run by teams and will expertly utilize tools such as SPSS and Q to ensure the datafile is presented to the client free of errors, in an optimized fashion and in their desired format. They will also step in where required to resolve any data queries internal or external stakeholders may have.


ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES & COMPETENCIES

  • Assisting in reviewing scripting logic present in questionnaires to ensure syntaxes can be written ahead of time to validate survey responses.
  • Flagging queries with Survey Programmers or wider project teams where scripting logic may not make sense and providing suggestions on how they should be adjusted to ensure better data quality.
  • Ensuring data is correctly delivered in the client’s desired format without errors and provides an extra layer of checking where required.
  • Providing clear and accurate ETAs on data processing tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ability to generate table outputs or data in client required format.
  • Ability to understand SPSS and Q to control quality assurances, provide guidance internally or externally and facilitate customized requests.
  • Full understanding of raw data, what it is, how to read and comprehend it and produce operational procedures to better business practices where possible.
  • High level of ownership in day-to-day work, including the ability to admit where errors have occurred, take steps to resolve those errors, minimize risk of recurrence, and to escalate where necessary to managers.

ABOUT YOU:

Here are the other skills you will need to be successful in this role:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Data Processing role or equivalent which includes data checks through SPSS.
  • High level of skill using tools such as SPSS, Q and Excel
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, effectively and in a timely manner with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to run meticulous and thorough quality checks on own work.
  • Ability to prioritize the tasks and manage time effectively.
