ETL Specialist (Data Engineer)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our growing data team. You will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure, enabling us to collect, process, and analyze vast amounts of data to gain valuable insights. 

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and ETL processes. 
• Build and optimize data warehouses and data lakes. 
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and reliability. 
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions. 
• Research and evaluate new data technologies and tools. 
• Optimize data storage and processing for performance and cost-effectiveness. 
• Automate data-related tasks and processes. 
• Mentor and guide junior data engineers. 
• Contribute to the overall data strategy and architecture. 
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in data engineering. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field. 
• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and principles. 
• Extensive experience with data warehousing and data lake architectures. 
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server). 
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Synapse, Data Factory). 
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services. 
• Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Matillion). 
• Strong programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala). 
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. 
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
